Kundapur : Every time as the election time approaches representatives/candidates from different parties coming to the doors of each and everybody’s house with their so many assurances to fulfill our pending/unfulfilled works of the area and begging to cast their valuable vote in their favor. This is traditional way of pampering the voters of their respective constituencies. After winning election nobody is bothered to look at the plight of people. There are many places where people are deprived of their basic needs and still struggling to survive. Since many years people of Pinganigudde ward No.9 comes under the jurisdiction of Thallur Grama panchayat are frustrated due to non availability of required basic facilities /infrastructures in the area.
Pinganigudde, a small place is hardly three kilometer away from Thallur Grama (village) through Parthikatte. It has got tar Road only for little yard distance from Sabladi and remaining part is mud road and this is the only link road we got. There are more than 200 houses are existing in this area. People of this place have to daily pass (walk) through this filthy mud road to reach Thallur and Kundapur.This is the fate of the road of this small place.
In Pinganigudde 9th ward approximately 10-12 houses still do not have electricity, no street lights. Students and office going people of this place have to walk daily 2 kilometer through this filthy road to reach Thallur and Parthikatte. During rainy season it is more worst and different story altogether. On one end rain water is entering inside the houses from the higher side of the area and on another end crossing the road is another nightmare for the residents of the area.
Drinking water Problem: Although under the sponsorship of District Panchayat (Zilla Panchayat) two big wells were constructed for the benefit of the people of the area and to solve the water problem, water in both well is not fit for drinking (unhealthy) and pump sets and pump sheds are in dilapidated condition. People of this area have to walk long distance to fetch the water from the pipe for their daily use. Life of the people in this area is highly in deplorable condition.
Problems during Rainy Season:- For the people of this area who are already living with so many problems when the rainy season approaches it is another headache. On one hand rainy water is entering inside the house due to lack of proper drainage system and on the other hand they have to take care of their limited belongings. It is total inevitable to the people of this area to live under threat .In spite so many small children living in this area there is no facility for kindergarten. As a result of this children of this area have to walk 9km daily to reach Sabladi.There is no fence around the drainage well and sump. This is always will be dangerous place for the people of the area if the fence is not built around the drainage and sump.
Identity Card and Ration Card:-People of this place do not have even voters ID, Ration card and other identity proofs. In the absence of these identity proofs poor people of this place who are already living under desperate condition are not eligible to apply for electricity connection or any other government aided projects /facilities specially designed and meant or the benefit of poor people. Once the dark invade the area it is very difficult to move around in the dark as there is no light even school going children are facing problem of reading in dark. Another side a fear of stray dogs. Over all people are succumb to live under fear.
According to one of the residents named Ms.Vasanthi, none of the elected representatives are turning this side to tell our grievances. We have been fighting and demanding, protesting for our basic rights of having kindergarten of our own for children, proper drainage system, Road, electricity connection, street lights, required government identity proofs, Ration card and other basic needs for the past four years but one to heed our grievances. All in vain.
According to another resident Mr.Udayakumar Thallur- District President, Bahujana Paksha, Dejected and frustrated People of Pinganigudde,9th ward,Baindoor Vidhana Sabha constituency, under the jurisdiction of Thallur Grama Panchayath protested many a times in front of taluk panchayat,grama panchayat and taluk office but without any yield. None of the elected members from District Panchayat, Grama panchayat or any other elected representatives from this place not at all visited once after the election was over. Although water wells have been dug for the benefit of the people, water of those wells can not be consumed and pump sets were out of use. Conditions of the Works already started are in deplorable/shabby conditions.
Although identity proofs are very necessary to avail benefits, facilities and basic needs from the government departments, people of this place do not possess those identities. In the past also many times we have fought for those documents on behalf of the people of the region. We continue fighting until the people of our region get justice through this struggle only as stated by Mr.Udayakumar Thallur.
Mr.Kubera-President, Pinganigudde Horata samithi has said elected representatives, members from Grama, District and taluk panchayat visiting only during election time and asking the people whether you got voters card?. Nobody is asking question whether you got Ration card or not? No representative or members is ready to take an initiative or to talk about addressing our problems. We have discussed many a times all these issues in grama panchayat meet as well but without any result. If the situation like this continues definitely we will start our revolution(Horata)until our last breath till we get our share of justice he warned.
